I'm writing this with my eyes closed, because my eyes are so tired that I can't focus them properly. The only way I can look at the screen and thus do my job today is if I look down my nose at the computer in the manner of a haughty toff contemptuously regarding a scruffy ragamuffin.
My colleague has just handed me some yellow aviators, which inexplicably make looking at the screen a bit easier, so I've opened my eyes now.
It's been a hopeless sort of day. I've felt ill, my eyes haven't been working, and I've been accused by a reader of this blog (they couldn't comment as Vox doesn't allow comments from heathen non-subscribers) of not having a soul. Also, I found out that my favourite Japanese plant shop / cafe is closing down on Saturday. This makes me terribly sad.
On the other hand, my ukulele should arrive tomorrow and I'm wearing aviators.
And anyway, I do have a soul. I just don't reveal it on the internet very often.
